Considered a man of God by his many followers and devotees, Bala Sai Baba breathed his last on Tuesday after being admitted into a hospital. The spiritual leader was just 58 when he passed away. After having chest pains, he was admitted to Viranchi Hospital in Jubilee Hills on Monday night. The following day, he succumbed while undergoing surgery. News of his death came as a shock to many.
It was a gloomy day in Kurnool when the body of Bala Sai Baba was brought back to his hometown. There was a huge gathering of devotees and followers at Baba Sai Seva Nilayam who paid tributes following his death.
Kurnool-born and brought up, his birth name was Balaraju. On reaching the age of 18, he had decided his fate and took up spiritualism. His first ashram was built in Kurnool itself. The other ashram is in the city of Hyderabad. Soon, this sought-after man changed his name to Bala Sai Baba. His beliefs were well received by not just people from the country but also foreigners. A multi-linguist, he had a good rapport with people from different countries who soon became his devotees.
His final service was performed on Wednesday at Balasai International School, near the outskirts of Kurnool.
Towards the end, his assets were notable and considered to be worth few hundreds of crores. According to sources, a dispute broke out between trustee member T Rama Rao and his brother Ramesh for authority over his estate.
